Thomas Cook has linked up with Microsoft Advertising to launch a three-month online competition branded “Bing Around The World”.

A dedicated Bing Around The World homepage has been launched, with traffic driven to the site from Microsoft’s other channels including msn.co.uk and MSN Travel. Thomas Cook will also provide exclusive editorial content.

Users are encouraged to guess the destination image on the Bing homepage to be entered into a prize draw to win a holiday each month to the Canaries, Turkey or Egypt.

The exclusive tie-up “ensures [that Thomas Cook] remains the top search result on Bing for destinations and departure dates that match its offers throughout the duration of the campaign”.

Thomas Cook deputy director of e-commerce David Hilton described Bing as “a fantastic alternative option for people to search the internet…it’s an intelligent, fast, accurate search engine that pulls up relevant results”.

Microsoft Advertising travel category development manager Caroline Mastoras added: “Thomas Cook will be able to deliver relevant search results to Bing’s growing share of the search market, whilst Microsoft have the opportunity to offer their users the chance to win trips to exotic destinations.”
