BA.com hails third-party ads success

Third-party advertising will become a regular feature on BA.com after a trial proved popular with clients and customers.

Third-party advertising will become a regular feature on BA.com after a trial proved popular with clients and customers.

A British Airways spokesperson said the ad space would be sold by contract publisher Cedar, which produces the carrier’s in-flight magazines High Life, Business Life and First Life.

BA has been trialling banner adds on the site for some weeks.

The spokesperson said: “The trial period went really well. We found visitors liked having the adverts on the site.

“We gave the account to Cedar because they have relationships with advertisers which are appropriate to our brand. We didn’t want to run any old ad on the site. There are half-a-million visitors to it every day.”
