Digital Visitor plans to expand internationally following its partnership in the UK with inbound-tourism body VisitBritain.

VisitBritain appointed Digital Visitor in April as the user-generated content and social-media provider for its Visitor Review platform.

This enables users to add videos, photos and reviews to the site and regional-tourism organisations and attractions to use relevant content on their sites.

The VisitBritain platform has so far aggregated content on at least 12 destinations in the UK, as well as 20 attractions and more than 1,000 reviews.

Digital Visitor now plans to take the platform to overseas tourism organisations, hotel chains and other travel businesses. Managing director Anthony Rawlins said the company already has customers in South Africa, Kenya, Australia and Canada. The company is working with E-Tourism Africa on a project to create a multi-media national tourism platform.
