EAC, one of the UK’s leading providers of Activity Camps and English Language Teaching (ELT) has been acquired by TUI Travel PLC Activity Sector – Student Division.

Established in 1992, EAC provides Activity Camps through the Easter and Summer holidays providing a 8am-6pm total childcare solution.

EAC also runs a broad range of English Language Courses for students through 35 summer school venues in addition to year-round centres in Hastings & Edinburgh for students and adults.

Situated in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cobham and Ramsgate, the EAC Activity Camps offer a full programme for 5-16 year olds including indoor/outdoor games and sports, arts, crafts and drama.

The Ramsgate centre is OfSTED-registered as it caters for children younger than nine-years old.

Andrew Fisher, managing director, EAC explains, “It is a really exciting time for EAC as we set out on this next chapter in our growth. We have always been proud of our strong customer relationships, range of courses and tailor-made product approach but combining this with the security and strength of a parent company like TUI Travel PLC will ensure we are well-placed to grow the business to meet our customer’s ongoing needs.

“We have seen a growth in the activity camp market so it is a great time to put our expansion plans into action. Children enjoy all the activities that they get involved in at one of our activity camps and with the current economic climate, we are seeing more and more families where both parents work part or full-time. Many are also working longer hours per day so are in need of a more complete daytime childcare solution.”

Ian Finlay, managing director, TUI Travel PLC Activity Sector – Student Division comments, “The Student Division has always sought to acquire companies that are the best in their field, market leaders delivering excellent customer service.

“I am delighted to include Andrew Fisher and his management team at EAC within that portfolio. Through EAC we have the opportunity to grow the business in the Activity Camps market and provide more great experiences for young children.”
