Hotelicopter has teamed up with Facebook to unveil a new hotel rating platform.

The development enables users to create reviews and share them with their facebook network.

The ratings engine allows consumers to create an account on Hotelicopter using the same account information they would on Facebook.

The system also shows users recommendations from their friends.

Hotelicopter co-founder and chief executive Adam Healey said: “This is the first layer but it’s exciting because our belief is that you don’t need to rate 12 million reviews so we are leveraging facebook to showing you a few.”

The company has also signed a deal to incorporate tripadviser’s reviews on the system.

Healey added that the partnerships enabled it to focus on the hotel search experience. Additional enhancements include a hotel comparison function.

He said there would be a ‘steady stream’ of new features released every couple of weeks in the coming months.
