Simonseeks signs string of early partnerships

Start-up Simonseeks has signed a raft of commercial deals with product providers including Opodo, TravelIntelligence and TravelRepublic.

The user-generated travel guide specialist, which launched in mid-June, claims visitors reached a peak of 8,000 a day within a week of launch and 500 travel guides were submitted to the site.

Of the guides, 60% came from travel enthusiasts and the remainder from professional travel writers with a total of 40% reaching the required quality level to go live on the site.
 
Further commercial partnerships include i-escape, Hotel Pronto, Octopus Travel, Hostelworld and Hostelbookers.
 
Commercial director Chris Nixon said new features were in the pipeline, which would help build traffic.
