Thomson Holidays has developed an online pre-departure service for customers, which will launch at the end of summer.

The MyThomson site aims to enhance the pre-departure experience by providing a customer’s holiday details and information in one place.

The service will initially be available for Thomson’s Premier customers before being extended to all Thomson online bookers.

Customers log in to the site to access information such as the weather forecast in their destination, directions to the airport from home and notifications of road-works en-route.

Additional features include links to videos and photos as well as further details about the hotel and destination.

Ancillary items such as airport parking, car hire, holiday insurance and excursions are also available from the MyThomson service and all quotes are tailored to the customer’s local details.

The service also provides users with a ‘holiday check-list’, which they can tailor with their own reminders as well as use default settings such as cancelling the milk, buying travel insurance and getting visas.

Jeremy Gidley, CRM general manager, TUI Travel UK said MyThomson had been created to offer customers something useful as well as help build up pre holiday excitement.

He added that the service also enables customers to get in touch with resort staff via e-mail for additional destination information and local knowledge.
