Specialist holiday operator Saga has appointed digital media agency Tamar to handle its natural search engine optimisation.

The partnership will be a continuation of an existing relationship between the pair for SEO, covering holidays, cruises, self-drive breaks and specialist holidays.

The move comes as Saga looks to increase marketing activity across its range of products, with a drive to improve listings on the likes of Google and Yahoo! a major priority.

Saga director of eCommerce David Unsworth said: “The agency will work with our in-house SEO manager on offsite and onsite optimisation to take our search marketing to the next level.”

The deal will also include Saga’s personal finance products, including travel insurance, savings, shares and retirement planning.

Tamar commercial director Neil McCarthy added: “Silver surfers use the internet to find out information, especially about holidays and financial matters, and this often starts with a Google search so it’s important that Saga features prominently in the places they are already looking.

“As SAGA offers ever more innovative and progressive holidays we will reach an audience that hadn’t considered using the brand before.”
