Comtec to provide technology for Freedom Direct

Technology provider Comtec and Freedom Direct have signed an agreement to install new travel management and selling tools for the independent retailers call centres and network of homeworking agents.

Comtec’s TravelCat and EasySell systems will be installed in a drive to improve the efficiency of Freedom’s business and improve customer service.

The new tools will automate various functions including back-office data entry of customer details, reducing the time it takes to complete some administrative tasks by almost 80%.

Customers will now also be able to access their bookings directly on Freedom’s website.

The My Booking tool will include itineraries, travel documents and a facility to make payments during the booking process.

Comtec sales director Richard Turner said: “Our selling and management modules work very well as standalone products.

“However, more and more UK agents are now recognising the significant business benefits associated with sourcing an end-to-end front and back-office service via Comtec.”

Freedom currently handles around 1,000 incoming enquiries a day into two call centres in Durham and Newcastle.
