New travel agent flight consolidator Boom has signed a major deal with Hays Travel to provide air fares to its group of High Street branches and homeworkers.

Boom, which launched in the UK this year and acts as an online fare consolidator for 67 long haul airlines, is based on an existing, Holland-based business model by which products are bought on a Europe-wide basis.

The deal will allow Hays agents in 32 branches and 120 independent retail agencies, plus 150 homeworkers, access to airfares through its fulfilment package.

Boom general manager Claire Trevis, who was previously aviation director at First Choice, said: “We are targeting medium and large ATOL holders who want to remove costs from their business by using the Boom fulfilment service.

“The contract with Hays is a fantastic start to the new business.”

Head of technology for Hays Travel, Neil Green, said: “We were impressed with Boom technology and its business model clearly demonstrated it could add value to our business.”

Hays recently signed a separate technology deal with Comtec.
