Travel Buddy launches white paper on mobile technology

Travel Buddy parent company Mobiletrails has launched a white paper on the opportunities of using mobile phone technology in travel.

The paper, published exclusively in association with Travolution and aimed at senior industry executives, gives an understanding of the mobile phone sector, how issues could impact on the travel industry and practical examples of how mobile technology can be used.

Sales, marketing and distribution director Neil Herbert said the trade remained far behind other industries in terms of its take-up of mobile technology.

He said: “This is a strategy on how to use mobile in your business, which many people have not got around to yet.  It’s the same situation as we had with the internet 15 years ago when companies buried their heads in the sand.”

Eight tourist boards are currently working with Travel Buddy, as well as established tour operators such as Thomson, to provide information via mobiles to holidaymakers.
