Shearings Group restructures into two divisions

The Shearings Group has restructured its business into two operating divisions, holidays and hotels.

Graham Rogers, director of Shearings’ National Holidays brand, has been promoted to managing director for holidays, with responsibility for Shearings Holidays, National Holidays and Caledonian Travel brands.

Vince Flower, chief operating officer, is now managing director for hotels and tasked with developing a new stand-alone hotel brand to operate alongside the coast and country product.

Both roles sit on the Shearings Group board with chief executive Denis Wormwell; group finance director David Newbold; and group HR director Jane Burke.

A new Holidays executive team has been created. This consists of Caroline Brown, who becomes commercial director for Shearings Holidays; Martin Lock, who becomes commercial director for National Holidays and Caledonian Travel; Chris Brown, who becomes operations director; Paul Freeman, who becomes finance director; Mark Williams, IT director and Nicola Heaslip, HR manager.

The group recently spent more than £7 million on an upgrade of 13 hotels and has spent £400,000 on its Great British Summer TV and press campaign.
