Viator Inc, the parent company of Viator.com, the leading resource for researching and booking more than 5,500 trip activities and experiences at the best prices, today announced the addition of Thomas Colandrea, 53, to its management team.

As vice president, global product sales, a new position within the company, Colandrea will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing Viator’s worldwide product acquisition and supplier management initiatives for the company’s direct-to-consumer retail site viator.com, Viator’s network of more than 1,000 active affiliate partnerships, as well as the websites operated by Viator’s LookTours division.

Based in the company’s Las Vegas office, Colandrea will lead Viator’s product sales teams located throughout the company’s network of regional offices in Las Vegas, London, San Francisco and Sydney, responsible for the acquisition and management of product inventory, product pricing and merchandising for their markets.

The company’s regional product teams are charged with identifying the best local tour operators, partners and suppliers by destination to help meet every traveler’s need, preference and budget.

These carefully selected local partnerships have helped build Viator’s selection of more than 5,500 pre-screened travel experiences – from private after-hours Vatican tours to Grand Canyon helicopter flights to Australian reef diving adventures – that span more than 75 countries.

“From starting up and operating his own travel agency in Honolulu to managing major supplier networks for Orbitz Worldwide, Tom’s proven expertise in sales, strategy development and leadership will be a great asset for Viator,” said Rod Cuthbert, founder and chairman of Viator Inc.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tom to the Viator team and look forward to the impact we know his talents will make on the products and services we deliver to our global customer base.”

Prior to joining Viator, Colandrea was managing director for Orbitz Worldwide where he was responsible for hotel supply in the Hawaii, Mexico and Caribbean markets.

He joined Orbitz Worldwide after working for many years within what is now the Travelport group of businesses, primarily with the company’s global distribution system Galileo International, which he originally joined in 1999.

During his tenure, Colandrea served in a number of roles, including Director-level positions focusing on U.S.-based corporate and national accounts. His career in travel began in 1990 as owner and president of Honolulu-based Bel Air Travel, Ltd.

He later worked for Regal Travel and Hawaiian Regent Hotel in Honolulu. Prior to the travel sector, Mr. Colandrea spent more than a decade with Pitney Bowes, Inc.
