Hotel giant Hilton is in consultation with staff over job cuts at its Watford headquarters in the UK.

Jobs across many departments including distribution are expected to go as the company continues its £175 million global cost-cutting programme announced in February.

The consultation is expected to last until late-June/early-July but some industry insiders believe losses could run into the hundreds at Watford.

A statement from the company to Travolution said: “Hilton Hotels Corporation is undergoing a corporate transformation, however one with a common goal, which is to build a stronger, more efficient and globally aligned organisation.”

A spokeswoman added that plans to double the size of the HHC portfolio in the next five to 10 years remained unchanged.
