ThisIsTravel appoints first general manager
Online travel brand This is Travel, the retail arm of Teletext Holidays, has appointed James Clarke as general manager.
He joins from Fleetway Travel, one of the largest independent tour operators in the UK, where he was sales & marketing manager.
James will report to Victoria Sanders, managing director of This is Travel, and will be responsible for increasing revenue, developing the product range and opening up new market opportunities.
Sanders said: “Thisistravel.co.uk is backed by Teletext so already has a solid and loyal customer base. James has a great track record and the right industry experience to take the business forward to the next level as we grow our share of the market.”
Clarke said: “This is an exciting business to be part of and one which I think has a huge amount of potential.
“I hope to see the company expand into new markets such as cruise and ski by the end of the year. I’ll be recruiting new staff to help grow the business and we have at least four new roles within the sales team which I’m currently recruiting for.“
