Travelzoo, a global Internet media company, announced today that it has surpassed 2.5 million subscribers to its European publications in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Over 270,000 Europeans have signed up to receive the Travelzoo Top 20 newsletter since the start of the year.
“Consumers across Europe are turning to Travelzoo during these challenging economic times because they want to save money, but don’t want to give up a quality holiday experience”, said Chris Loughlin, managing director of Travelzoo in Europe.
“We continue to see subscribers respond very, very quickly to offers that we recommend in the Top 20 newsletter.
“The pattern is consistent across all European markets, with subscribers booking hundreds of hotel rooms, flights and cruise cabins almost immediately after we publish.
“We believe the immediacy of response is down to the fact that subscribers feel assured that we have researched and tested each offer to ensure pricing authenticity, competitiveness in the market and ease with which offers can be booked.”
Travelzoo’s 2.5 million European subscribers clicked a total of 9,184,736 times on travel offers recommended in the Travelzoo Top 20 in Europe since 1 January, 2009, up 38% from 6,636,593 clicks in the same period in 2008.
“The large volume of clicks emphasizes just how significant the demand for outstanding travel offers is among Travelzoo’s European subscribers,” commented Loughlin.
