The site was launched in May 2007 to showcase product from a range of five-star tour operators and allows users to search across a wide variety of destinations.
Managing director Vicky Sanders said consumers will be able to book luxury holidays through the site from next month, with fufilment provided by the company’s retail arm thisistravel.co.uk.
The switch will allow Teletext to make the site commercially worthwhile for advertisers. “Before we could not fufil it for the advertisers, by doing this we can control the site and fufil it,” added Sanders.
Meanwhile, the cruise section of Teletext Holidays’ website is being developed to offer dynamically packaged cruises for the first time.
Currently it only sells cruise cabins. The company is working with Traveltek to provide the opportunity to package up flights and cabins.
