Air New Zealand has launched a new text service to provide passengers with up-to-minute personalised flight alerts direct to their mobile phone.
The ‘Boarding Buddy’ service is available free of charge for all customers flying with Air New Zealand from London Heathrow who have booked their flights via the UK Air New Zealand website airnewzealand.co.uk.
Passengers who sign up for the service will receive text messages on the day they fly providing them with flight information, check-in opening times and location and also delay notifications as well as a reminder to get to the gate.
In addition, they will also receive up to two text messages offering exclusive retail discount vouchers for use at London Heathrow Terminal 1.
The new service is provided by mobile travel service provider Mantic Point.
Scott Carr, Air New Zealand General Manager, UK and Europe, said: “The Boarding Buddy service is about making the check-in process as smooth and hassle-free as possible. A holiday should start as soon as you arrive at the airport, and with up-to-the-minute personalised information passengers can start to enjoy a relaxing journey before they board the plane.”
The service will be rolled out to all Air New Zealand UK bookings for flights departing from Heathrow later this year.
