Sabre Travel Network has unveiled a new profile management system, which will gradually replace the current STARS system over the course of the year.

PowerPlus Profiles has been developed for both leisure and business travel agents and improves efficiency through a graphical user interface as well as simple and fast ways to find traveller information including by name, phone number or other content within their profile.

The system enables consultants to call up profiles linked to the traveller such as family members and add priority notes to highlight important information. It is also links to the passenger name record or current booking details.

Agents experienced in the legacy Sabre GDS formats can still use the profile tool via a series of keystrokes.

Existing databases can be integrated into the PowerPlus Profiles system, which is web-based and built to OTA standards.

Sabre product marketing manager Brad Bennett said: “The web services architecture makes the applications significantly more flexible so we can rapidly deploy changes and others can also program the changes.”

Sabre has been working on the profile system with a core group of agents to gauge feedback and 18 customers are already using the system.

The UK will be among launch countries for the system with full migration beginning in the middle of April.

Further enhancements are planned for the system towards the end of the year including travel policy product integration, the ability for travellers to access the system via a graphical user interface and reporting and analytical tools.
