Transfers specialist Resorthoppa has signed a distribution deal with online travel agency On The Beach in a move that could boost bookings by 10%.

The white-label deal means Resorthoppa has taken over from transfers4u.com as the main provider of resort transfers for the dynamic packaging agency, according to trade sales director Tim Buckman.

Buckman said: “For us this is quite a big deal – the early signs are that it could increase our business by up to 10%.”

Resorthoppa – bought by the Lowcost Travel Group in January – has also signed distribution deals with retailers Dawson and Sanderson and Travel Counsellors and is selling through Expedia for the first time via booking engine TravelTainment, part of the Amadeus Leisure Group.

The deals are part of Resorthoppa’s moves to capitalise on the benefits of running an enlarged group that includes bed bank lowcostbeds.com.

Buckman said the acquisition has allowed the group to reduce Resorthoppa’s prices. Already Resorthoppa has run an aggressive advertisting campaign comparing prices with rival transfer companies.

He added: “We can afford to reduce margins on transfers if we are offering beds as well because we are not just selling one product through one channel.”

He admitted not all agents will want to work with both Resorthoppa and lowcostbeds. “There will be companies that will not work with lowcostbeds but will work with Resorthoppa,” he said.

At least one accommodation-only consumer specialist is currently in talks just to work with Resorthoppa, he added.
