TUI UK is looking to raise the technology and online marketing bar even further with the launch of exclusive podcasts and other rich media content through its affiliate network on Commission Junction.


A package of video and audio guides to destinations including Turkey, Majorca, Gran Canaria and Ibiza has been unveiled across the Commission Junction network, with a further 12 to be added in the next three months.


The partnership between TUI and the ValueClick-owned company is also expected to feature a search function for Thomson Ski holidays and include user reviews and RSS feeds.


Client development director at Commission Junction, Tina Judic, said: “The technology and creatives that are currently available to Commission Junction are unprecedented within the affiliates marketing space.


“In conjunction with TUI, we’re committed to giving publishers what they want – we actively consult with our affiliate partners, to understand which new tools and creatives will drive the most revenue, conversion to sale and the best user experience.”


TUI, and the Thomson.co.uk site in particular, have been widely credited with leading the way among tour operators and their online operations, specially in terms of user-generated content and downloadable material.


The operator plans to allow Commission Junction to share details behind the partnership with other website owners and the travel industry in a consultation ending in June this year.


TUI new media affiliates manager Pete Norwood said: “We are working with the team at Commission Junction to develop new, exciting ways to deliver creatives to our publisher network, with the ultimate aim of increasing revenue for us and our affiliates.”
