Websites for China and Germany plus a new online portal for travel to Asia are the latest developments for Global Travel Market, headed by former Quest Travel managing director, Dave Simmons.

The company launched its first site – Australiatravelmarket.com – in February, a travel and price information portal for UK users planning trips to Australia.

The site has been overhauled for the exploding Chinese market and will launch as Australiatravelmarket.cn by June.

Simmons has enlisted the help of four of the market leading Chinese travel agencies, including Ctrip.com.cn and Goldenholiday.com, to provide flights from China into Australia.

The Chinese tourist market is currently in the midst of a boom, with a 70% year-on year increase to 157,000 in the number of visitors making their way to Australia.

A version of the site for the German market (.de) is expected in July.

Global Travel Market also has plans to launch in Asia during the summer. The site will be based on the same principle as the Australian version, whereby users can search for flights, accommodation, car hire and attractions, and then compare prices before deep-linking into the vendor’s site to make a booking.

In March, Australiatravelmarket.com attracted 31,000 unique users and recently launched a Price Index service for consumers to track booking trends between the UK and Australia.
