Amadeus is weeks away from signing the first travel management company to use its Mobile Travel Assistant.

The distribution giant signed a deal in September with conTgo, a specialist in mobile solutions for business travellers.

The technology enables travellers to communicate with their agent and change and rebook tickets as well as access itineraries and receive flight status alerts and pertinent destination information.

Amadeus UK managing director Stephane Durand said the GDS had received positive feedback from agents after testing the mobile system on its labs.

The GDS is also testing a mobile travel wallet enabling travellers to download all details of their trips.
