Mobile Travel Technologies will unveil deals with two of the top 10 major global hotel chains in the coming weeks.

The mobile travel specialist has also revealed details of a campaign it is working on with InterContinental Hotels.

The campaign aims to raise awareness amongst business travellers of the Holiday Inn brand as well as drive up enrolments to the Priority Club Rewards loyalty scheme.

The campaign offers participants the chance to win a prepaid hotel card worth Eu3,000 if they text a key word to a mobile short code and are sent back a link to mobile micro-site.

The micro-site has been developed using MTT’s m2bed platform.

According to MTT founder and executive director Gerry Samuels 5 to 7% of the volume of visitors to PC websites are going on to mobile websites. The figure is predicted to grow to 20% within the next 24 to 36 months.

“Web mobile usage is going up very significantly at the moment because tariffs to access it are coming down and it is getting easier to access with the iPhone a big driver of that. The other reason is people are using mobile web search because with investment from Google and Yahoo it is easier to find services that work well through the mobile,” he said.
