Flight consolidator Partners Software has gained a foothold in North America with the opening of an office in Toronto.

The company has already gained five customers for its Low.Fare system in the US and Canada including Ontario-based Huntington Travel and flightnetwork.com.

Low.Fare provides travel suppliers with access to low-cost airlines and other non-GDS fares such as negotiated and consolidator rates.

Partners managing director Kai Hannemann said: “We saw an opportunity six months ago when the market leader went under new ownership. We took the attitude that it was a different market and that we needed to adapt and that has been a successful approach.”

The five customers are already using the technology or in the process of extending it across their operations.

In the UK, the Thomas Cook retail network also uses the Low.Fare system.
