Content aggregator Travelfusion has sealed a multi-year distribution deal with Air Canada.

The deals provides TRIPplannerXML, a direct connect web distribution and trip planning platform with access to all of Air Canada’s fare products, product attributes and Flight Passes.

TRAVELfusion will use Air Canada’s ac2u direct connect platform to build on the content already available in TRIPplannerXML. The system now enables business and travel agencies to search and book more than 150 suppliers.

TRAVELfusion offers airlines and rail suppliers a cost effective solution to distribute content worldwide and for agencies and e-commerce services to access suppliers fares from a single interface, integrated with their own applications.

“Our partnership with Air Canada is a strong endorsement of our vision that travel distribution is moving towards a direct connect model,” said Moshe Rafiah, Travelfusion president.

Air Canada’s general manager for product distribution Graham Wareham said the deal enabled the airline to extend the reach of its unbundled, merchandised product outside Canada.

“With the recent expansion of our unique, branded product to the international market, it becomes increasingly important for Air Canada to offer global, merchandised distribution solutions that provide efficient access for travel agencies and corporate customers the world over.”
