Travelwhere is offering tour operators a two-month free trial of its online brochure service.

The map-based brochure content and search site will upload brochures to the site free of charge to encourage operators to use the service.

Founder Ian Champness said the move demonstrated Travelwhere’s commitment to the trade especially at a time when operators are scrutinising their marketing and distribution costs.

“We now have 65 brochures on the site and hope to have a couple of hundred up there. We want operators to take a look at it and evaluate it. Technology is there to reduces costs and automate processes.”

Champness estimates that brochures cost an average of £1.50 to produce and print before postage costs while experts say up to 20 brochures can be sent out for every booking made.

He added that the company plans to drive visitors to the site through white-label partnerships including its recent deal for a version of Travelwhere’s BrochureRack service on the Association of Tour Operators to France website.

A pay-per-click campaign will also start this month.
