1time, one of South Africa’s low cost carriers will soon be launching a domestic and regional tour operator called 1time Holidays using RWA’s Sell-It Suite reservation system.

The Sell-It Suite system will provide 1time with the ability to create fixed and dynamic holiday packages consisting of hotel and other ground products combined with 1time’s own flights.

The Sell-It Suite system will integrate directly with 1time’s flight reservation system for access to realtime flight availability within the travel package offering, including pricing and booking.

1time will use Sell-It’s Inventory Manager to load and manage hotel contracts, car rental agreements and other ground products. Business rules set up inside Inventory Manager determine how these ground products can be combined with 1time flights to generate the 1time Holidays offers.

1time Holidays will be an additional service offered to its passengers. The tour operator business will also promote the destinations to which 1time flies, particularly Zanzibar. 1time Holidays has concluded most deals with suppliers in Zanzibar as well as ground-handling arrangements.

It is also in the process of finalising deals with some of the hotel chains and other partners in South Africa for its domestic packages.

Commenting on the launch of 1time Holidays and the selection of Sell-It Suite Desmond O’Connor, commercial director at 1time said: “1time has grown dramatically in the last 5 years in the South African market place carrying over 1.6 million passengers in 2008.

“A lot of our success has come from streamlined and efficient internet booking systems, and it was vital that any system we added was cost effective, reliable, efficient, and more importantly, offered ease of use to our customers which is crucial to our predominantly online business. We did a thorough investigation of all available systems on the market, and Sell-It stood out in all areas. Further to that, our staff enjoyed the training on the system, and found it simple to use, making it a plus for our staff and our customers. 1time have big plans for our Holidays business and we are proud to have RWA and Sell-It as partners as we move forward.”

The majority of 1time Holidays’ business will be driven through the Internet using Sell-It Online and there will also be a small call centre taking phone bookings using Sell-It’s Bookings Manager. The financial aspects of the Holidays operation will be managed in Sell-It’s Finance Manager, a complete, integrated multi-currency finance management system. RWA is also providing 1time with a complete Facilities Managed (FM) service that includes hosting of the complete Sell-It Suite installation including the online booking facilities on the 1time holidays web site.
