Tripadvisor reviews of hotels are to be introduced across VisitBritain.com in what will be a huge expansion of its relationship with leading UK tourist boards.

Travolution understands that the partnership will be signed officially over the coming weeks.

Representatives from VisitBritain and Tripadvisor confirmed this week that the project is underway but have so far declined to give details.

The functionality is expected to be similar to the integration of Tripadvisor content with the VisitLondon website, announced in December 2007.

User generated reviews of all featured hotels on VisitBritain will be featured alongside the existing Tripadvisor star rating system. Users will be also write new reviews against hotel properties.

The move will be another major content deal for Tripadvisor following its recent partnership signed with easyJet Holidays and the integration with sister site Hotels.com.

It also has similar white label programmes with Thomson and Sky Travel.
