Costa Cruises is to showcase its two major ship launches for 2009 with dedicated websites for each ahead of their join ‘christening’ in June.

The Costa Luminosa and Costa Pacifica, which will be launched simultaneously in the Italian city of Genoa this summer, will be previewed on microsites from costacruises.co.uk.

The fully interactive sites will contain information about each vessel as well as images and video. Virtual tours will also be launched shortly.

The move follows other recent web activity for Costa including a blog, Youtube channel, Costa Web TV, virtual piazza and video FAQs.

Costa Cruises corporate e-business and direct sales director, Daniele Mancini, said: “The creation of the dedicated websites for the Costa Luminosa and Costa Pacifica, where the message and the means of expression are based on the innovative use of images, video and music, confirms Costa Cruises’ pioneering strategy with regard to the internet and new technologies.”

“This type of language, which is dynamic and progressive, linked above all to the spread of broadband access, is a common feature of all the company’s web-based communication.”

The two sites can be found at luminos.costacruises.co.uk and pacifica.costacruises.co.uk.
