Hays Travel is planning to launch a new version of its main website before the January peak sales period.

The site is being developed in conjunction with Traveltek and will have a new look and feel as well as a combined packages and dynamic packaging search capability.

Further releases of the site are planned for later in 2009 including the integration of the iSell retailing system unveiled at Hays’ recent conference and user-generated content.

Charlie Bateson, Hays Travel head of web, said: “We’re trying to get more unique content and that takes time to get a critical mass. We have a fantastic resource in terms of staff and we need to find the best way of collecting and displaying the information.”

The Sunderland-based retailer is also working with web design specialist Jamber to unveil a website for its long-haul tour operation, Hays Faraway, in the first quarter of 2009.

Development work is also being carried out to integrate accommodation arm, Hays Beds, into the new website and iSell system.
