Yahoo has unveiled a beta version of its Yahoo Answers Knowledge Partners for the UK.

The free system enables businesses to bring their knowledge to the Yahoo Answers community by answering questions on topics relevant to their expertise.

According to the search giant’s UK travel product manager Sam Clue the scheme provides companies with a vehicle to engage in user generated content and build a reputation on the web.

It also provides a direct link back to companies’ websites and posts their logo next to each answer.

In addition participants are provided with a branded profile page within the Knowledge Partners area.

Partners are also provided with a ‘Knowledge Partner’ ID badge for their website to help build up site credibility and Yahoo Answers functionality can be integrated back into their websites.

Partners are required to answer a minimum of 20 questions a month and can choose which ones to answer.

Clue added that no travel partners were on board so far.

Yahoo Answers has more than 25 million users across Europe and is ranked the number one education and reference site by Hitwise.
