Crystal Ski has upgraded its website with improved usability and access as well as increased content.

The operator has moved the front end from HTML to a more compliant web standard enabling it to focus on accessibility and improved usability.

Larger images have been added to the site as well as resort slideshows and downloadable piste maps in PDF format.

TUI Ski user interface and content manager Ashley Jones said: “We have brought it into the 21 century from a front end point of view.

“We used to just provide a small amount of content whereas now we show the same amount but with the option to expand the search result such as more hotel information.”

The next step is to redevelop the back-end so that complete pricing can be seen from the initial search as well as to make room selection easier. The project is likely to be completed in the first half of 2009.

Jones said: “The new architecture will enable us to do more with the front end. We want to get Web 2.0 features on to the site such as video, Flickr images and Google maps.”
