Travel guide business WhatsOnwhen is to see a range of improvements to its site following the recent overhaul of the Frommer’s network.

The consumer-facing site of the WhatsOnWhen business will retain its existing branding but could introduce a raft of new features including hotel and flight search facilities, similar to Frommers.com.

Parent company Wiley recently overhauled the WhatsOnWhen B2B content and white label business to Frommer’s, bringing it in line with its US guidebook division.

Craig Schickler, director of e-business development at Frommer’s, told Travolution a number of new initiatives on the Frommers.com site – including trip planning, blog tools and content sharing functionality – were performing well but undecided if they would be rolled out to the WOW site.

A recent interactive kiosk initiative with Borders bookstore is also likely to be extended in the New Year.
