Ryanair plugs hotel gap with boo.com partnership

Ryanair‘s online hotel channel will be powered by boo.com in the short-term, following the carrier’s decision to terminate its hotel supply agreement with Expedia.
A spokesperson for boo.com’s parent company, Dublin-based Web Reservations International (WRI), told Travolution that it had signed ‘an interim agreement’ and that the current arrangement was not a long-term solution for the airline.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Ryanair through hostelworld.com, and we’ve stepped in for now with an interim agreement because of all that’s gone on.”

No other details were disclosed.

WRI launched boo.com in May 2007 as a hotel booking site featuring customer reviews, photos and images.

Its hostelworld.com offshoot signed a five-year deal as Ryanair’s exclusive hostels/B&B partner in August 2007. Ryanairvillas.com was launched this May in partnership with WRI.

Elsewhere, easyJet is currently offering Ryanair customers a 5% discount if they book a bed through easyjethotels.com. Easyjet’s hotel partner is Hotelopia, the bedbank owned by TUI Travel.
