Travel websites in unseasonal falls in HotShops list
Traffic to some of the leading UK Travel websites is falling quicker than usual for the pre-Christmas period, according to data from IMRG-Hitwise.
The latest quarterly HotShops lists of the Top 50 retail sites in the UK for November 2008 showed a slump of 22 positions for thomascook.com to 43rd place.
Thomson Holidays lost 15 positions over the same period with Travelodge and BA down eight places each.
The report said: “This eleventh quarterly Hot Shops List is characterised by rises in event tickets, fashion, groceries and computers, while travel falls even further than it normally does at this time of year.”
The list is topped by Amazon, Argos, Play and Tesco.
Ryanair, Expedia and lastminute.com are also all down by 13, 11 and 12 positions respectively.
