Travel technology supplier, Dolphin Dynamics, has enhanced its Dolphin product to include a new map-based accommodation search tool.

The new service is integrated with Microsoft Virtual Earth technology to enable Dolphin users and online consumers to establish the precise location of available hotels and compare the proximity of available properties to famous local landmarks and other points of interest.

The enhancement to Dolphin’s search function enables users to compare prices between available hotels from a variety of suppliers along with full property images and descriptions – all from a single availability query.

The new Dolphin service also supports street map, aerial and hybrid map views.

The search process is fully integrated into the Dolphin booking journey, enabling users to quickly reserve an available hotel, and other travel products – and then print a useful local map which can be included as part of their client’s travel documentation.

Roberto Da Re, president of Dolphin Dynamics, said: “Introducing a map-based search provides our travel agent and tour operator customers with a new, user-friendly way to find the best match with their customers’ requirements.

“We’re continuing to invest heavily in Dolphin in order to provide our customers with a new wave of interactive tools which will make their job easier and enhance the service they offer.”

The new search facility is now available within Dolphin’s reservation module and consumer booking engine service.
