Once they have logged a new trip, WAYN members can opt to receive confirmation of their flight number and flight times on the day of travel, as well as information on boarding times, departure gates and any delays.
The service also offers an additional opt-in daily weather update in the days up to and during the trip.
According to figures obtained by WAYN, some 30% of UK scheduled flights are delayed by more than 15 minutes.
Matt Jerwood, WAYN director of business development, said: “A few hours before the scheduled departure passengers receive an SMS message confirming the flight time.
“Approximately 30 minutes before departure a reminder of flight details and boarding information is sent.
“The service can also provide travellers with two exclusive location specific retail offers depending on where they are flying from.”
Mantic Point provides white-label information services to the travel industry and has worked on similar projects for BAA and EasyJet.
WAYN already offers a global SIM card, international SMS bundles and a mobile translator.
