Travelzoo’s European boss Chris Loughlin has confirmed that there are “no further strategic changes” to the business after the appointment of a new chief executive.

The Nasdaq-listed deals publisher has named Holger Bartels as CEO. He is the brother of the current CEO Ralph Bartels, who is taking on the role of chairman.

Loughlin told Travolution that part of Ralph’s new role is to help with “the knowledge transfer process” from the US management board into Asia Pacific, where Travelzoo now has over 1m subscribers.  Loughlin himself was part of the US board before taking on the executive VP role for Europe.

“ The organization in Europe is well established now,” Loughlin said. Stephen Dunk is commercial director for Europe while also being de facto head of the UK. The business now has more than 2m subscribers in Europe. Germany is run by Philip Doenhoff, with  Axel Mazerolles in charge of France.

In August, Travelzoo UK topped the Hitwise chart in the “travel – agencies” category for the amount of traffic coming to a  web site from email.
