Travelsupermarket.com has celebrated the airing of its first ever TV advertising campaign by signing deals to add four hotel chains to its portfolio of products.

The price comparison website will incorporate Radisson Hotels, Park Inn, Regent and Country Inn & Suites to its search database.

The new hotel chains will give Travelsupermarket a total of over 140 websites it currently sweeps to find prices for users.

TravelSupermarket.com channels manager for hotels, Alexis Garrick, said: “We are thrilled to add Radisson, Park Inn, Regent and Country Inn and Suites to our product range.

“This will give our customers an even greater choice of quality product at the best price available.”

The latest deals follow the premiere of the company’s first consumer TV campaign, which was aired last weekend.

The £4m campaign will run on ITV, Channel 4 and Five during prime time dramas such as Desperate Housewives, Footballers’ Wives and Prison Break.

The new strategy is a radical departure for Travelsupermarket.com, which has traditionally used online advertising for its marketing campaign.

Last year Ebay, which also traditionally used online as its channel of choice for advertising, launched a major TV campaign.

Search engine Ask (formerly Ask Jeeves) has also recently started an above-the-line campaign also using TV.
