Online advertising technology specialist Intent Media has acquired Voyat, a personalisation platform for hoteliers.

In a statement announcing the purchase, the value of which was undisclosed, Intent Media said:

“This transaction brings together two nimble, fast-growing companies that share the same core mission, to help travel brands use data science to increase revenue-per-search and provide better user experience.”

Voyat, which has previously raised $3 million in venture capital funding, was founded in 2012 by chief executive Benjamin Habbel, formerly chief of staff for Marissa Mayer at Google and chief technology officer Bob Lund, formerly chief technology officer at Gekko.

The firm provides personalisation and user segmentation solutions that claim to “dramatically increase conversions on hotel websites”.

Voyat and Intent Media will continue to operate as independent brands and there will be no changes made to the portfolio of products and services.

Intent chief executive Richard Harris said in an email to existing customers: “You will continue to receive the same quality of service you’ve come to expect from us, with the same point of contact. We remain committed to you, and your goals.”

Intent Media has raised $50 million in venture capital backing since being founded by former executives of OTA Travelocity.
