Airbnb has opened a pop-up experience in London to showcase its Live Like a Local mantra.
A townhouse property in Shoreditch has had each room transformed to offer a series of surprise experiences hosted by London locals.
Visitors are being encouraged to come along and just ring the doorbell to gain enrtry.
The house is due to be open between Thursday June 16 and Sunday June 19.
It will be filled with immersive experiences that reflect Londoners’ many passions from food to music, and guests will be led through them all by local Airbnb hosts.
Special guest ambassadors will also feature including spoken word star James Massiah, foodies Lily Cai and Daisy Cecil – aka the ‘Dinner Ladies’, and Bradley Zero, club DJ and broadcaster.
Airbnb said “the experience follows the news that London has welcomed a record number of tourists this spring, with the trend set to continue throughout the summer.
“With millions of travellers set to visit the capital, Airbnb is calling on them to look beyond the typical tourist experience and ‘live like a local’; something that 85% of Airbnb guests prioritise when they travel to thousands of destinations around the world”.
Anyone not able to visit the house is able to participate and receive travel tips from local London hosts by tweeting their question accompanied by the hashtag #DingDong.
