Agents booking with SAS will be able to better customise their offers to customers when using Amadeus.
The Scandinanvian carrier has signed up for up for Amadeus’ fully customisable branded fare groups, Amadeus Fare Families.
This enables each fare to be tailored to different travellers’ specific needs by including specific products and services like the option to cancel or change a ticket, or the ability to check in an extra bag.
Amadeus claims a near doubling in the amount of ancillaries being sold by agents last year. Travel managers will have access to the SAS fares via Amadeus’ corporate booking tools.
SAS revenue management vice president, Tobias Jönsson, said: “Our vision is to make life easier for Scandinavia’s frequent travellers.
“As a part of this SAS is now launching Amadeus Fare Families to simplify and improve the sales experience for both travel agents and travellers.”
Amadeus distribution marketing vice president, Decius Valmorbida, added: “Fare Families present a great opportunity for airlines that want to simplify and improve the shopping experience for travellers and travel agents, and they significantly improve ancillary sales.
Amadeus Fare Families are now being offered by 25 airlines, with 10 signed up for the service and in the process of implementing the solution.
