CoachHire.com has appointed former Addison Lee and Multicom talent as it targets integration with new travel partners.

Andrew Spiers, who oversaw the development and implementation of Addison Lee’s minicab booking API, and David Osborne, UK travel software firm Multicom’s former head of sales, have joined the project management and partnership teams.

The CoachHire Connect API allows partners to price and book coach and minibus journeys from their own platforms or apps.

The firm believes by allowing access to its network of more than 2,500 suppliers and providing real-time, accurate pricing for group journeys it can change perceptions of the market, “making it more transparent and bringing it in line with comparable products in the taxi and personal travel industries”.

Managing director Mathew Hassell said: “The new directions opened up by the API are exciting, not least because it’s an industry first; but we have recognised the way in which TMCs, DMCs and travel platforms are integrating across services as the present and the future of travel – I’m delighted to have the experience of Andrew and David on board to drive the project.”

The expansion comes as CoachHire.com grows its development and management teams and revamps its website as part of a £4 million investment from venture capital firm Nickleby Capital.
