Lastminute.com has turned to the marketing department of Manchester Airport to hire its first group trade marketing manager.

Edward Fanning, who held a similar role at the airport operator and has also had a stint at HarperCollins Publishers, will be responsible for Lastminute.com’s trade brands, Holiday Autos, MedHotels, Exhilaration, Globepost and Holidayandmore.com.

Lastminute.com marketing director Mathew Hart said: “We are thrilled to welcome Ed to the central UK marketing team.

“His expertise will be invaluable in ensuring our trade brands continue to grow and to cement the already strong relationships we have our industry partners, both agents and suppliers.”

The creation of the new post comes shortly after the appointment of Niall McKinney to the new role of group marketing director for Europe.

McKinney was brought in to work across the Lastminute.com and Travelocity brands.

Fanning said: “I’m delighted to be joining Lastminute.com at such an exciting time and I am looking forward to help grow our great trade brands and to work closely with our trade partners and customers.”
