Club Med has released a series of virtual reality videos showcasing its resorts, available online and via headsets at travel agencies.

The 360° technology is available on the Club Med YouTube channel and Facebook page and UK travel agents will be equipped with the Samsung Gear VR headsets to showcase resorts to customers “soon”.

Four of the videos have already been developed at key Club Med resorts, offering detailed views of the rooms, sports activities and staff waiting to greet customers.

Videos for Kani and Finolhu Villas in the Maldives, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and Peisey-Vallandry in the French Alps are available, with six further videos due by the end of 2016.

The videos, developed in partnership with TF1 Production and Digital Immersion, can be experienced in a virtual reality format in Geneva, Brussels, Moscow and the apartment agency on the Champs Elysees in Paris.

Club Med plans to continue growing the offering and also intends to add resorts to Google Street view by “scanning” the locations using Google Street View technology.
