Agents using Amadeus will continue to have access to Virgin Australia fares after the two companies extended a long-standing distribution pact.

The extension builds on an existing full content agreement and deepens the partnership between the two companies.

Last year Virgin Australia agreed to let Amadeus provide it with the Altéa departure control – flight management solution.

Amadeus’s Asia Pacific executive vice president, airline commercial, Hazem Hussein, said: “We have boundless respect for Virgin Australia as an innovative, forward-thinking airline and are pleased to see our partnership with them go from strength to strength.

“This agreement furthers our commitment to providing our airline partners with the most efficient, neutral and cost-effective means to reach and partner with travel agencies, and at the same time gives our travel agency subscribers access to the best and widest range of content, ”

The airline’s chief commercial officer, Judith Crompton, said: “We have enjoyed working with Amadeus to help us reach travellers around the world and are pleased to extend our partnership.”
