Travel industry experts from Expedia, Thomas Cook and Crystal Ski have collaborated with customer experience specialists Qubit on a major new report about the future of travel.

The report, which Travolution and Travel Weekly have worked on in partnership, will be officially launched at an event in London on March 15.

Speakers lined up for the event include Andy Washington, managing director Expedia northern Europe, Brennon Williams, chief executive of Iridium Systems and Robotics Corporation and Caroline Cartellieri, director of digital transformation at GLH Hotels.

The report features predictions of how digital developments and technology will transform travel drawing on expert insight from US futurist Glen Hiemstra.

The report looks at emerging trends in travel related to the rise of ‘on-demand’ travel, the expansion of choice and the demands of personalising at scale.

It then focuses in more detail how technologies will transform travel in the three key stages: pre- during and post-trip.

For travel firms the report sets out how they can exceed the increasing expectations of the modern digital traveller and in doing so increase loyalty and lifetime value of that client.
