Lastminute.com is to extend its new relationship with Tripadvisor for user reviews of hotels onto the Travelocity UK website.

The Sabre-owned online travel agency confirmed last week that it would be using a white label version of Tripadvisor to provide extensive hotel review facilities on its website in the short term while a system of its own is developed.

The surprise move came four months after officials confirmed that a review system would be installed on the lastminute.com site.

It was widely expected at the time that Sabre-Travelocity’s IgoUgo user review platform would be used.

A lastminute.com spokesman said: “Tripadvisor will be implemented on travelocity.co.uk, again, as an interim measure before our own alternative is launched.”

However, reviews from the Expedia-owned Tripadvisor will not be implemented on the Medhotels brand or any other lastminute.com-run site.

The Travelocity.co.uk brand is administered out of the UK under the lastminute.com umbrella of travel websites.
