LATAM expands Amadeus content deal

South American airline group LATAM’s merchandising capabilities are to be accelerated with ancillary services to be made available to Amadeus-connected travel agencies.

South American airline group LATAM’s merchandising capabilities are to be accelerated with ancillary services to be made available to Amadeus-connected travel agencies.

The move comes as part of a renewed full content distribution deal with the technology company.

The agreement ensures that flight availability, pricing and other conditions provided to agencies using Amadeus will be the same as in other channels, including LATAM’s website.

LATAM and its affiliate carriers recently announced the start of six new international routes, including the first direct flight by a Latin American carrier to Africa with TAM Airlines serving Johannesburg.

Ancillary revenue and tours vice president, José Luis Rodríguez, said: “Our collaboration with Amadeus will allow us to continue making use of an important distribution channel worldwide, allowing us to specifically target our growing network of international markets.”

Joost Schuring, Amadeus vice president, Latin America and Caribbean, added: “Travellers today are looking for consistency, transparency and choice.

“They want to be able to book their flights through their preferred channel knowing that they will get the best service from the airline they choose to fly with.

“We are delighted to work together with LATAM to meet the traveller’s needs and preferences.”
